Occupational Therapy

Dynamic Hand Therapy provides rehabilitation services to a diverse patient population. Patients who would benefit from our services include those with fractures, burns lacerations and tendon and nerve injuries to their arms and/or hands.  Others may include patients with pain stemming from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Tennis Elbow, Tendonitis, Trigger Finger and Arthritis.  Occupational Therapists will evaluate and treat your injury with expertise unmatched by a general therapist.

        

Splinting
An OT with exceptional splinting skills will custom fabricate the splint necessary to treat your specific condition.  Your insurance will typically pay a portion of the cost.  Most often,
your splint will be fabricated and taken home in one session.                                                               

Evaluation
An OT will evaluate your range of motion, strength, sensation, swelling and pain in order to assist with your specific diagnosis.  The therapist will then develop a customized treatment program to meet each patient's needs.





              

Treatment
An OT will utilize a variety of treatment methods to address the conditions each patient presents.  Treatments include, but are not limited to, range of motion, strengthening, myofascial release techniques, ultrasound, electric stimulation and state of the art strengthening using an upper extremity functional activity stimulation machine.



        

     


Massage Therapy
We offer Massage Therapy services in our Fox Lake clinic.  Our licensed Massage Therapist, Linda Clifford, provides techniques including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Myofascial Release, Hot Stone Therapy, Trigger Point Therapy, Medical Massage And Sports Massage.  Linda specializes in Pregnancy Massage and Fibromyalgia.  Packages and Gift Certificates are available.
